Grade Calculator
Grade calculator
Weights are percent of the final grade and should add up to 100. In each box, paste scores copied from Canvas or PowerSchool (one per line, like 18 / 20), or type percents separated by commas. Leave a category empty if it is not graded yet.
Your class grade is the weighted average of your categories: average each category, multiply by its weight, add them up and divide by the weight graded so far. Paste scores like 18 / 20 straight from Canvas or PowerSchool and the calculator reads them.
Worked example
Homework is 20% (scores 18/20, 9/10, 10/10, 7/10 with the lowest dropped), tests are 50% (84 and 91) and the final is 30% (not taken).
- Homework: 90%, 90%, 100%, 70% → drop 70% → average 93.3%
- Tests: (84 + 91) ÷ 2 = 87.5%
- Points so far: 20 × 93.3 + 50 × 87.5 = 6,241.7 (out of 70 weight)
- Current grade: 6,241.7 ÷ 70 = 89.2%

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my grade with weighted categories?
Average the scores in each category, multiply each average by the category's weight, add those up, and divide by the total weight graded so far.
How do I paste from Canvas or PowerSchool?
Select the score column in your gradebook, copy it and paste it into a category's box. Lines such as '18 / 20' are read as percents, and ungraded lines are skipped.
What does drop lowest do?
It removes the lowest percent in that category before averaging, as many syllabi describe for quizzes and homework.
Why do my results differ from my gradebook?
Teachers may use points-based totals instead of averaging percents, round differently or use extra credit. Check how your syllabus weighs the work.
Do the weights have to add to 100?
They should. If they do not, you will see a warning, and the score-needed number assumes a 100% total.
Are my scores stored?
Only in this browser so they are still here next time. They are not sent anywhere.
